PAUSE FOR REFLECTION

Einstein’s Letter God is Love

Like the secrets of Fatima, revealed years later to a waiting world, the “God is love” letter from Albert Einstein enters a world desperately in need of it and almost ready to hear it.

“I ask you to guard the letters as long as necessary, years, decades, until society is advanced enough to accept what I will explain below,” Einstein said. “There is an extremely powerful force that, so far, science has not found a formal explanation to. It is a force that includes and governs all others, and is even behind any phenomenon operating in the universe and has not yet been identified by us.

“This universal force is LOVE. When scientists looked for a unified theory of the universe they forgot the most powerful unseen force.” Einstein goes on to put a scientific equation to give visibility to love.

“If instead of E = mc2, we accept that the energy to heal the world can be obtained through love multiplied by the speed of light squared, we arrive at the conclusion that love is the most powerful force there is, because it has no limits,” Einstein said.

Applying this to the cosmic explosion of light and love that was and is the Resurrection of Jesus, we find actual physical evidence supporting Einstein’s theory of this LOVE force.

The shroud of Turin, one of the most controversial Christian relics bears the faint image of the body of a bearded man who appears to have nail wounds to the wrists and feet.

Professor Paolo Di Lazzaro talks about the flash of light that could have colored this piece of linen, but invariably this discussion “touches on things such as miracles,” he said.

But we do not have to rely on science to prove the existence of Christ and the church founded on the apostles. God’s gift of FAITH will suffice.

In his Resurrection homily Pope Francis spoke of the “explosion of love”. He spoke of the gift of HOPE. “We can and must hope, because God is faithful. He did not abandon us; he visited us and entered into our situations of pain, anguish and death.

“His light dispelled the darkness of the tomb: today he wants that light to penetrate even to the darkest corners of our lives.

“Dear sister, dear brother, even if in your heart you have buried hope, do not give up: God is greater. Darkness and death do not have the last word. Be strong, for with God nothing is lost!”

When Jesus was born, a light in the heavens guided the shepherds to the place. At the Resurrection, his rebirth, “There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven … rolled back the stone and sat on it. His appearance was like lightning … The guards … shook and became like dead men.” (Matthew 28).

What was the force behind the Resurrection of Christ? It was God’s LOVE. It was the most powerful force in the universe described by Einstein: “This universal force is LOVE. …

“Love is Light, that enlightens those who give and receive it. Love is gravity, because it makes some people feel attracted to others. Love is power, because it multiplies the best we have, and allows humanity not to be extinguished in their blind selfishness. Love unfolds and reveals.

“For love we live and die. Love is God and God is Love.” (from Einstein’s letter to his daughter Lieserl).
